Ten of the 23 inflammation-related transcripts that we have previously observed to be upregulated in the retina of a rat model of Type I diabetes were significantly altered with age. With the exception of pigment epithelium-derived growth factor (Pedf), all of the transcripts were upregulated in Old animals.
